the laird’s suite
Who would not want to be Laird or Lady of the Manor for the night?
This suite, the pinnacle of Balnakeilly luxury, exudes opulence. Featuring dual-aspect views across the glen and the perfectly manicured gardens; the Super King size bed and two separate seating areas provide total relaxation.
Wash away the worries of everyday life as you soak in the elegant roll-top bath. A walk-in drench shower, his & hers sinks and underfloor heating complete this stunning en-suite.
The Stewart room
Named after the Stewart family who were in residence at Balnakeilly for over 500 years; rich teal walls and the striking headboard ooze glamour. Enjoy morning coffee whilst taking in the glorious vista.
This room has a separate bathroom; the Stewart Estate Bathroom, featuring an over-bath shower, heritage-style high level WC, a William Morris tiled washbasin and underfloor heating.
This room can be booked alongside the Estate Room to create an interconnecting family room.
The Estate Room
This cosy room is full of lovely natural light with elegant brass accents and picture-perfect glen views.
The separate Stewart-Estate Bathroom features underfloor heating, an over-bath shower, heritage-style high level WC and a William Morris tiled washbasin.
The Stewart Estate Bathroom will be used exclusively by guests in either The Stewart Room OR The Estate Room, unless booked together to create an interconnecting family room.
Aubyn’s Room
Named after the 10th Laird of Balnakeilly, the decadent wallpaper and plush velvet headboard draw you towards the sumptuous Super King size bed. Idle your time away alone, or with someone special, appreciating the amazing views.
Aubyn’s Bathroom is just along the grand landing and consists of underfloor heating, an over-bath shower, WC and a William Morris tiled washbasin.
Lady Prudence’s suite
One of Balnakeilly’s most show-stopping rooms, Lady Prudence’s Suite is impressively spacious and light-filled. You will love the combination of vintage and modern, paying tribute to Lady Prudence who was Lady in Waiting to the late Queen Mother – a room befitting of royalty.
The bright en-suite with it’s large window has a walk-in drench shower, WC and a William Morris tiled washbasin.
Sir Blair’s Suite
Aptly named after Sir Blair Stewart-Wilson – Equerry to Her Majesty The Queen and Deputy Master of Household in the Royal Household from 1976 – 1994. The regal but calming décor ensures utmost relaxation. A large original sash window gives the perfect morning view.
The unusually shaped but stylish en-suite boasts a walk-in drench shower, WC, a William Morris tiled washbasin and underfloor heating.
The Foss Room
Romantic floral walls envelop the period fireplace. Curl up in the sumptuous King Size bed and relax with a movie on the wall-mounted TV – it’s the cosiest place to unwind.
The Foss Moulin Bathroom is opposite The Foss Bedroom and benefits from a walk-in drench shower, heritage-style high level WC and a William Morris tiled washbasin with solid oak flooring.
This room can also be combined with The Moulin Room, ideal for a group of four.
The Moulin Room
Regal reds and golds combined with a luxurious King Size bed will ensure an indulgent stay in this courtyard-facing room.
The Foss Moulin Bathroom is adjoining The Moulin Bedroom and benefits from a walk-in drench shower, heritage-style high level WC and a William Morris tiled washbasin with solid oak flooring.
This room can also be combined with The Foss Room, ideal for a group of four.
The Partridge room
Immerse yourself in this light but dramatic space where traditional elegance meets with modern comfort.
The adjoining quirky bathroom comprises of a reduced height walk in drench shower, WC and a William Morris tiled wash basin with solid oak flooring.
The Colonel’s quarters
These three bedrooms, together with a sitting room, kitchenette and bathroom create the ideal larger group space. Shut off from the outside world behind a closed door, enjoy much-needed quality time together as a one, two or three bedroom suite. Alternate rates for reduced occupancy may be available on request – please call us for more information.
As The Colonel’s Quarters are truly your ‘home from home’, all family members including four-legged ones are most welcome. A private door leading onto the courtyard allows easy access for your pooch.
Tea and Coffee making facilities in the well-appointed kitchenette will enhance your stay and the plush Chesterfield style sofa in the sitting room will allow you to rest and recuperate after a long day exploring the dramatic Highlands.
The Colonel’s Bathroom has an over-bath shower, heritage style high-level WC and a William Morris tiled washbasin with solid oak flooring.
The Pheasant room
The Pheasant Room is decidedly vintage in feel but not in comfort. Intimate in both style and atmosphere, the brass double bed partners perfectly with the delicate floral wallpaper.
The roebuck Room
The Roebuck Room is a dual-aspect bright, spacious room allowing you to relax in it’s deluxe Super King size bed. It is beautifully styled to showcase the warm autumnal colours in which Balnakeilly’s gardens take the spotlight.
The Colonel’s Room
The Colonel’s Room, situated at the far end of these quarters, hosts a sumptuous Super King size bed, and grand décor.
